Recently a lot of players, both from India and overseas, have shown their keenness to be a part of this year's IPL. According to BCCI President Sourav Ganguly, "The BCCI is working on all possible options to ensure that we can stage the IPL this year, even if it means playing the tournament in empty stadiums. Fans, franchisees, players, broadcasters, sponsors, and all other stakeholders eagerly await the possibility of hosting the IPL this year."
With the fate of global tournaments like the Asia Cup & Men's T20 World Cup remaining undecided this year, the biggest challenge for the BCCI is to find a free window for the IPL. If the Men's T20 World Cup gets postponed, the BCCI would like to capitalize on that vacant window, pending permission from the Government of India.
