New Zealand begin their 2019-20 home season with the first of five T20s against England at Christchurch on November 1 before Tests at Mount Maunganui and Hamilton, with the tour ending on December 3. "We're simply delighted with the way it's all fitted together," said David White, the New Zealand Cricket CEO. "We're particularly thrilled for all those involved in securing Bay Oval as New Zealand's ninth Test venue. A lot of people have worked hard for this recognition and I'm sure the venue will continue to go from strength to strength."

The men's team then flies to Australia for three Tests from December 12 to January 7, including a day-night Test, the Box Day Test, and the New Year’s Test at Perth, Melbourne, and Sydney, respectively. While they were initially scheduled to complete their tour of Australia with three ODIs immediately after the Sydney Test, a scheduling tussle between Cricket Australia and the BCCI meant that Australia would be instead traveling to India for three ODIs themselves. But after they return home from Australia, New Zealand will have India visiting them for a full tour comprising as many as 5 T20s, 3 ODIs, and 2 Tests. Australia rounded off New Zealand's home season with 3 T20s at Dunedin, Auckland, and Christchurch after facing off their neighbors in 3 ODIs at home.

"We take our hats off to Eden Park," White added. "They've really come to the party; obtaining resource consents, offering compelling commercial terms and a reduction in match-day costs, and consistently preparing high-quality wickets and outfield. This is a notified consent process and I'd really encourage the cricket community to make submissions in support of the game - which is scheduled for India's Republic Day and is shaping up to be a wonderful occasion".
