Led by a blistering 140 from captain Navneet Dhaliwal, Canada thrashed hosts Malaysia by a whopping 206 runs at Kuala Lumpur. Dhaliwal opened the innings alongside Rodrigo Thomas and the duo laid a solid platform with a 140-run stand before Thomas was dismissed for 62. But Dhaliwal kept firing from one end, hammering 8 fours and 13 sixes in a 94-ball knock. Support from the middle-order came from Nitish Kumar - who hit 60 off 50 deliveries - and Ravinderpal Singh, whose aggression meant he scored 94 off just 46 balls. As a result, Canada planted 408 in 50 overs but Malaysia folded for less than half that score courtesy of Kumar's off-breaks. He kept finding the breakthrough at regular intervals as captain Ahmed Faiz top-scored for Malaysia with 41 in a total of merely 202. The win gave Canada full points for their second match in a row, as Malaysia remain stuck at fourth on the table.

Brief Scores: Singapore 249 for 7 in 50 overs (David 97, Chandramohan 80; Delawar 3/49) beat Denmark 213 in 50 overs (Uddin 43; Sunil 6/46, Param 3/30) by 36 runs

Singapore opened their account in the tournament with a 36-run win over Denmark in a contest where they needed just two men with both bat and ball each to defeat the opposition. Tim David and Surendran Chandramohan hit 97 and 80, respectively in a total of 249 with only one other batsman getting into double figures for Singapore. Chandramohan first shared an 82-run partnership with opener Arjun Mutreja before adding 91 with David, who was the last man dismissed. On his way to a 75-ball innings, David hit 9 fours and 3 sixes while Chandramohan remained the calmer of the duo, batting for 124 balls and striking 5 fours and 2 sixes. With the ball, Aryaman Sunil struck early before breaking the back of the Denmark middle-order with a haul of 6 for 46, complemented well by Navin Param's 3 for 30. Multiple batsmen threw away starts as Jino Jojo briefly threatened to upset Singapore with a 30 lower down, but all Denmark could manage was 213.
